Chatsworth Upholstered Bed Frame with Externally Mounted Oak Legs
Quiet Luxury, Thoughtful Detail
Handcrafted in The Old Joinery, Berkhamsted, the Chatsworth is a low, upholstered bed frame with a strong, simple shape and beautiful solid oak legs.
There’s no headboard – just soft, padded side rails and striking oak legs that become the main feature of the design.
The legs are mounted on the outside of the frame and stand slightly proud of the sides, so you can clearly see the grain, shape and workmanship. Each leg is CNC-machined for accuracy, then carefully hand-finished by our team for a smooth feel and crisp edges. They are designed to be both decorative and structural, giving the bed a solid, stable base that also looks special.
To help reduce bumped toes, the legs are set around 200mm in from each end of the bed. This brings them away from the corners and improves circulation around the frame, while the raised design makes the bed feel light and airy in the room.

The Chatsworth is designed to work with a wide range of bedroom styles and mattress types. You can choose from over 200 upholstery fabrics, from relaxed linens and textured weaves to smart wools and velvets, so the bed can blend in quietly or stand out as a statement piece.
Because mattresses vary in thickness, we offer custom leg heights. This allows you to set the finished sleeping height to what feels most comfortable for you – whether that’s lower and more relaxed, or higher and easier to get in and out of.
There are also various leg designs available, so you can pick a look that suits your décor, from simple and modern to more traditional shapes.
