Custom 4ft Upholstered Headboards – Perfect for Small Double Beds (120cm / 1200mm / 48")
Our collection of 4ft small double headboards is handcrafted to order in our UK workshop in Berkhamsted. Designed to fit small double beds (also known as three quarter beds or prince size beds), these headboards measure 48 inches wide (1220mm) as standard, with the option to reduce the width to 1200mm on request — ideal for a neat, mattress-width fit.
With over 30 unique headboard styles available, you can choose from contemporary, traditional, and shaped designs — including options that are plain, buttoned, piped, or panelled/fluted. You can also specify the height of your headboard to suit your room layout, from low and understated to tall and bold.
Mounting options are completely flexible. Our small double headboards can be supplied as bed mounted (using struts, with a 36-inch spacing between fixing points), wall mounted, or floor standing. Whether you're working with an existing bed base or designing your entire bed from scratch, there's a mounting style to suit.
Each headboard is upholstered and padded by hand using your chosen fabric from our curated range of over 150 upholstery fabrics. We offer soft linen, cosy wool, elegant velvet and more. If you already have a fabric you love, we’re also happy to work with your own material. Free fabric swatches are available on request to help you get the perfect match.
We also produce custom upholstered 4ft bed frames, made to match your headboard and finished in the same fabric. These are designed to fit the UK small double mattress size (1200mm x 1900mm). For a coordinated bedroom finish, you can also add a bed valance (bed skirt) made to order in the same material.
