Our European King upholstered headboards are designed for beds measuring 160cm x 200cm (1600mm x 2000mm) — a common king size mattress used across Europe. Whether you're furnishing a European bed frame or replacing a headboard on an imported mattress, our 160cm headboards are tailored to offer the perfect fit.
Each headboard is made to a standard width of 1600mm (63 inches) and is fully customisable in height, shape, and fabric. From tall and dramatic to subtle and low profile, you can specify the dimensions that best suit your space and taste.
We offer more than 30 unique headboard designs, including contemporary, traditional, and shaped styles. Finishes range from plain padded, buttoned, and piped to panelled or fluted, all made to order to your requirements.
Because European beds are often constructed differently from UK divans.
our 160cm headboards are available as:

- Floor standing – for stability and presence without wall fixings
Bed-mounted struts are not used with 160cm European king beds, ensuring compatibility with European bed bases and frames.
Each headboard is hand upholstered and padded in our Berkhamsted, UK workshop, using your choice from over 150 upholstery fabrics, including linen, wool, velvet, and more. You can also send in your own material. Free fabric swatches are available to help you finalise your selection.
To complete the look, we also make upholstered 160cm bed frames to suit European king size mattresses (160cm x 200cm). Matching fabric bed valances (bed skirts) are also available for a seamless, tailored finish.
A UK king size bed measures 150cm x 200cm, while a European king is slightly wider at 160cm x 200cm. A 150cm headboard will look undersized on a European king mattress — which is why we manufacture these 160cm-wide designs specifically for continental sizing.
