Our 4ft small double upholstered bed frames are handcrafted in our Berkhamsted workshop and designed to fit UK small double mattresses (1200mm x 1900mm). Often known as three-quarter beds or prince size beds, small doubles offer more width than a single but take up less floor space than a full double—making them ideal for teenagers, guest rooms, or solo sleepers who like a little extra room.
Built for One or Two Sleepers
Small double beds can be used by either a single sleeper who prefers extra space or two people who don’t mind sleeping close. To accommodate both uses, we offer two slat options:
- Single Row of Slats – Ideal for one person; centralised comfort and support.
- Dual Row Slats – Ideal for two sleepers; customisable support for each side of the bed.

We Make the Frame and the Slats In-House
We don't just upholster the bed frame—we also manufacture the slatted bed bases in-house. Choose from:

- Electric adjustable slats for ergonomic or medical use (optional upgrade)

What Size is a 4ft Bed Frame?
Our small double bed frames are designed for 1200mm x 1900mm mattresses, and the headboard strut spacing is 36 inches (914mm). This matches standard UK small double fixing points.
